Mahasweta Devi(14 January 1926 – 28 July 2016) was an award-winning Indian writer and social activist. She actively worked for the rights and empowerment of the tribal people in India. Also, she has focused on women's rights in her works. Hajar Churashir, Maa and Aranyerand Adhikar Rudali are some of her remarkable literary works. Mahasweta Devi was honoured with Sahitya Akademi Award, Jnanpith Award, Ramon Magsaysay Award, Padma Shri and Padma Vibhushan. Today’s Doodle celebrates Mahasweta Devi’s 92nd Birthday.
