NO LONGER A TSUNAMI THREAT FROM HONDURAS EARTHQUAKE
An earthquake of magnitude 7.6 has struck 27 miles (43 kilometers) off the coast of Honduras in the Caribbean sea at 10.52 pm local time on Wednesday (January 10 2018).
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center had warned that tsunami waves could hit parts of Honduras, Belize, Mexico, the Cayman Islands, San Andres Provid, Jamaica, Cuba, Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua and Guatemala. About two hours after the quake, Tsunami fears were cancelled by the center and they issued advisories that sea levels could rise above normal, but no tsunami occurred.
